Rock Bands

Rock Bands are what we do. We feel that learning to play with other musicians in an actual band is like learning how to drive in an actual car.  By playing in a Backbeat band, bandmates learn teamwork, how to listen to each other, how to play together, and how to effectively communicate. Plus they gain confidence and learn about stage presence by performing at least three times a year as part of a Backbeat Rock Show.

ROCK BAND FAQs

Do I have to take private lessons at Backbeat to join a Backbeat rock band?

Nope. We take the relationship between a teacher and student very seriously and if you have a great fit with a teacher outside of Backbeat, we don’t want to get in the way of a good thing. You can take lessons anywhere and still play in our bands.

What kind of music do your rock bands play?

From indie folk to metal and everything in between, we have “that” kind of rock band.

Can I bring my trombone / didgeridoo / keytar to play in a rock band?

Yes to all of the above! Rock Bands are open to any and all instruments, from guitar to drums to cello to xylophone. We don’t believe in cookie cutter bands and love stepping outside the box.

Do all rock bands perform?

100% yes. We believe performance plays an important role in developing confidence and rock shows give our bands a team goal. Most importantly: our rock shows are fun and we ROCK OUT!
